Description:
We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible, hardworking individual to become an integral part of a busy team within the Cardiology department.
Your duties will include secretarial support to the Senior Medical Secretary and Consultants, dealing with telephone enquiries and a variety of other secretarial duties as well as managing the daily workloads. In addition, you will be required to assist in the timely management and validation of patient pathways and cleansing of waiting lists.
Previous secretarial experience and experience of working with the general public and or professionals is essential. You must have good communication skills with patients and colleagues at all levels and a flexible approach to your work.
The post holder will be expected to perform a high level of secretarial and administration tasks within the Cardiology department. You will need to be able to work efficiently and accurately and work flexibly and confidentially.
You should have good written and oral communication skills and function well as part of a team, liaising with colleagues of all levels, using your own initiative and ability to prioritise work to achieve deadlines. You will need to be competent in a range of IT packages, including MS Office.
You will be a point of contact for patients, speciality teams and other departments for all enquiries relating to patient admissions. You will be responsible for the tracking of patient pathways in accordance with the national targets.
