Good communication and interpersonal skills, friendly approach, enthusiasm and motivation are essential as you will be dealing with doctors, other health care professionals, and crucially patients.
You will be a self-motivated individual with proven secretarial skills which include audio typing, diary management, and an excellent telephone manner. You will be calm under pressure as this is a very busy and at times demanding environment with a willingness to undertake and learn new tasks.
Experience of Trust IT systems, experience in a secretarial job and the ability to work without supervision are essential to this role.
This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join the Renal Department which is a very busy and fast paced department providing patient care across Lancashire & South Cumbria, East Lancashire, Blackpool & Fylde and surrounding areas.
We are looking for individuals who ideally have previous experience in hospital administration. You will ensure the efficient channelling of communication between medical staff, GPs, patients, relatives, members of the public and other disciplines within the Trust.
You will need to have strong time management skills coupled with computer literacy in all components of Microsoft office applications.
A desire to improve and succeed and the ability to generate real energy and enthusiasm in the work that you do are essential to the role.
Knowledge and experience of office procedures are essential – we don’t want to just throw you in at the deep end so we are looking for someone who knows what it’s like to work in an office team environment. However, as all offices and systems are different, you will receive full training when you start so there will be plenty of opportunity to grow and develop new skills as well as show us what you can do with yours. The ability to use your initiative and work as a member of a busy team is essential.
