An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our developing Medicine Optimisation team. We provide high quality support to our patients and are looking for a motivated, flexible and forward-thinking Pharmacy assistant. The successful applicant will join our friendly team of assistants, technicians and pharmacists to work primarily with our surgical services. As part of an integrated role, the post holder will work flexibly to support ward-based pharmacy medicine optimisation services, dispensary support and ward services.
This post will be primarily based at St Luke’s Hospital but will be required to work at BRI as required.
The post holder will be a link between ward colleagues and pharmacy with the principle aim of improving patient flow and patient experience. The role will include taking responsibility for the ward stock provided by pharmacy including stock levels and expiry date checking. It also includes working alongside the ward pharmacist to improve patient flow by ensuring that discharge medication is ordered in advance and discussing with families which medications they already have at home.
