Description:
Yorkshire Ambulance Service has undertaken a pilot of prepacked Prescription Only Medicine (POM) pouches for stations in West and North Yorkshire.
An opportunity has now arisen to establish 1 permanent post in the role of Medicine Packing Logistics Assistant.
This role involves collecting and delivering the pouches to the stations from the main base at HQ in Wakefield, checking the medicines in the pouches and restocking to set levels, and recording essential information in the Medicine Management online system.
You will be numerate and literate with good communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be a team player but able to work alone, use common sense and initiative, and be computer literate (competent in the use Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer and standard systems).
Good knowledge of the Yorkshire road network is required as the role involves a significant proportion of driving .

You will work during the day Monday to Friday (06:30-14:30, 07:00-15:00 or 08:00-16:00). You will either have or must successfully complete within the first week the Certificate in Medicines Management for Ambulance Trusts (online externally provided course funded by the Trust)
Responsibilities:
Required to perform a wide range of duties associated with the provision of prepacked medicine pouches, supply chain logistics, and Medicine Management within the Trust, providing a safe and effective service.
Provide a high standard of service delivery in relation to the packing of medicines into pouches, delivery to stations and other items under the management of the Hub & Spoke Transformation Team.
Compliance with all relevant SOPs, controls and standards, both national and Trust specific.
Required to work with minimum supervision, flexibly across a large geographical area and use initiative in problem solving issues that occur whilst performing duties and within the capabilities of the position.
