In June 2024, we proudly opened the doors to two extraordinary hotels located side by side at the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, with direct indoor access to the terminal and train station. This hotel complex is the largest in Finland: Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport boasts 505 rooms, extensive meeting facilities, a rooftop restaurant, and a spa, while Comfort Hotel Helsinki Airport offers 211 rooms. Our congress center can accommodate events ranging from intimate meetings to gatherings of up to 1000 participants, with meeting spaces from the top floor view to the cozy and spacious basement level.
Now we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Meeting & Event Technician for Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport to help put our hotel’s congress facilities on the map in Finland. Every event is unique, and you will play a crucial role in creating unforgettable conferences and events for our guests. We are seeking someone who is responsible, takes initiative, and loves to provide world-class service. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a strong understanding of conference routines and technical requirements in terms of sound, light, and image.
  • Strong knowledge of conference routines
  • Previous working experience in a hotel environment is advantageous.
  • Strong technical knowledge in sound, lighting, and audio-visual systems.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work well with a team.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Professional level of Finnish and English preferred

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As a Meeting & Event Technician, you will primarily provide audio visual technical services and other technical meeting setups for our Meetings and Events department clients. You will operate and maintain all sound, lighting, and audio-visual systems to ensure the smooth running of our customers’ events. The job includes managing all production requirements for in-house conferences and events and facilitating the needs of external production companies producing events throughout the hotel. The position involves work during the day, evening and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with our sales team and customers to find the best possible technical solutions for each event, while also making additional sales.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support while maintaining positive guest interactions.
  • Plan the technical aspects of events months in advance and collaborate closely with our outsourced technical partners.
  • Ensure that all items on the shift’s checklist are completed and registered.
  • Rig furniture, AV equipment, and banquet setups as part of the position.
  • Keep technical equipment and tools up to date and in good working condition.
  • Participate and contribute to a positive working environment where everyone supports each other.
