About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a MEM/Intune Engineer to join our growing team.

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • 5+ years SCCM experience, · Architecture experience,
  • In depth experience of Microsoft technologies within the end user space
  • Expert experience in Windows 10, 11, group policy, Intune, and Microsoft Defender,
  • Proficient in PowerShell,
  • Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all levels across the business and within IT Enabling Functions
  • Ability to document processes, changes, and new technologies,
  • Good planning, organisation, and analytical skills,
  • Ability to work under pressure and to agreed targets,
  • Demonstrates teamwork at the highest level, · Willingness to learn and embrace change,
  • Accuracy and attention to detail,

Responsibilities:

The SCCMs engineer’s main responsibility will be for the management of configuration manager, specifically around keeping the site up to date, deploying patches to Windows 10/11/Server, managing content, distribution, deployment, superdense and monitoring of the applications within SCCM.
The SCCM engineer will also have responsibility to support Intune across Windows devices, as well as the day-to-day diagnostics, and support across the end user technology stack. The engineer will have responsibilities around vulnerability management, including reacting to any vulnerabilities found, and being proactive to keep our end user devices up to date and secure. The engineer will delivery exceptional customer service to our users, as well as improve and create new processes across teams to ensure the smooth running of the service.

What you’ll be doing

  • Continual Upgrade of SCCM and dependant components,
  • Maintenance of Operating System Deployment Task Sequences, including the additional/removal of drivers and applications.
  • Management of the Application Lifecycle within SCCM, including Creation, Superseding, removal, dependencies and reporting.
  • Management of Distributions across the estate and the hierarchical configuration within SCCM.
  • 3rd Line support for SCCM and the Windows Operating Systems.
  • Patching all End user Compute, and some server Operating Systems in accordance with the relevant Patching Framework.
  • Liaise with relevant teams to ensure deliverables are met and communicated,
  • 3rd line support across the Windows estate, · Create/modify Intune configurations for the managed endpoints, including application packaging, improvements, and upgrades.
  • Authoring, troubleshooting, and supporting automation scripts, · Assist in maintaining overall endpoint health and device compliance through use of Intune, Windows Defender and SCCM,
  • Ensures that appropriate standards are adhered to, providing technical support, and undertaking technical project work and where applicable producing relevant documentation,
  • Support Balfour Beatty Team Leads in delivery of operational IT Services
  • Assist IT Services design team with the deployment and analysis of new technologies and enhancements to existing systems,
  • Operate within the Balfour Beatty change management process.
  • To provide technical expertise in the delivery of fixes, changes and upgrades to the IT Infrastructure
  • Interact with the Service Desk to resolve incidents within SLAs and undertake problem management,
  • Proactively identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution,
  • Proactively contribute to overall team objectives, responding effectively to new directives
