Description:

What will you do?
The Member Engagement Specialist is the main contact responsible for completing touchpoints for all members to determine member needs, satisfaction and proactively identifying concerns to retain members. The Position is responsible for assisting the Director with the development and implementation of initiatives to retain and support the Association membership.
This role requires travelling to meet in-person with Members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Promote membership benefits and discounts to all members and non-members on an ongoing basis while keeping all information current in new member packages, online and in renewal packages.
  • Assist the Director with the development of retention strategies and then implement approved strategies.
  • Actively maintain memberships by conducting touch points with Association members.
  • Being well informed on all membership benefits, health and wellness programs, workforce development programs, and how each works.
  • Handle all member inquiries.
  • Work with the Communications and OpenCircle Benefits’ Member Benefits teams on events and projects to provide value to members and perceived value to future members.
  • Develop and strengthen the feedback loop between the Association and its’ members.
  • Meet and visit new and existing members regularly.
  • Update member information as provided (new addresses, contacts, emails, phone numbers etc.) in CRM database.
  • Obtain and track data relating to feedback received to be utilized for trending and proposed Association and Benefit Plan changes.
  • Assist the Director with the development and maintenance of performance metrics.
  • Support the Association’s strategic plan.
  • Assist with the data required for reports for executive and board of directors.
  • Answer all email and phone enquiries.
  • Maintain membership information materials.
  • Provide new member information to other team members for inclusion in Association newsletter, social media, and other related initiatives.
  • Represent the Association at community or business events when required.
  • When required, speak to groups and organizations on benefits of membership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree business administration, communications, marketing field is considered an asset, or the equivalent work experience.
  • Relationship and membership management skills.
  • Two to five years membership sales/retention experience and proven track record in sales growth and/or retention.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) database.
  • High degree of interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork, organizational, planning and leadership skills.
  • Ability to research and create reports.
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s license and use of personal vehicle, ability to travel across the country.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency to apply knowledge of grammar, punctuation, structure, spelling, tone, proofreading, clarity, and organization.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Exemplary time management.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive information.
