Description:
We are seeking staff for our dynamic fitness branch membership team! Our fitness centers are community hubs where people of all ages and abilities can find group classes, swimming, fitness coaching, new equipment, and more. Our membership team supports and responds to member needs, promotes membership and programs, and provides excellent service to everyone who walks through our doors.
POSITION SUMMARY:
These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of experience in serving customers, sales or related field
- Excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
- segments of the community
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships and completes appropriate documentation, paperwork and data entry for sales; handles all monetary transactions according to protocol.
- Builds exceptional relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Applies YMCA policies and protocols dealing with member services or any emergencies.
- May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
