Description:
The J.F. Hurley YMCA in Salisbury, NC is seeking a creative servant leader for the full-time position of Membership and Marketing Director.
Job Description
General Function:
Under the guidance of the Executive Director/COO, the Membership / Marketing Director supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Directs all aspects of membership for the branch including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and supervision of assigned staff. Develops, plans and implements new procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals. In addition the Membership/Marketing Director will ensure communication and marketing plans are implemented/excuted and will manage social media and other marketing efforts for the J.F. Hurley Family YMCA.

Qualifications
Know How:
Incumbent must pass YMCA background checks and successfully complete and maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to acquire them within 30 days of employment.
· Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
· Previous professional experience in membership, marketing, and/or sales preferred.
· Excellent computer skills and experience with standard business software.
· Must have strong interpersonal, public relations, and communications skills.

Essential Functions
Essential Functions:
· Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
· Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
· Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
· Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
· Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff. Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions.
· Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
· Helps develop marketing strategies/initiatives for all branch departments and leads the management of social media/community marketing and communication strategies.
· Engages with community development activities such as Health Fairs, Civic Clubs, etc.
· Leads assigned aspects of the fund-raising campaign includes but limited to the Annual Support Campaign.
· Assists in conducting surveys related to developing new improvements and strategies in specific target areas as well as customer satisfaction and knowledge.
· Participates in staff meetings, membership/marketing team meetings and/or related meetings.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
