REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in social sciences, communications, public relations or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in relations management, partnerships, communications, preferably in an international and multicultural setting;
- Proven ability to manage institutional relationships;
- Excellent oral and writing skills in English. Knowledge of French and Spanish, or other languages spoken in the region, e.g. Russian, will be considered as a strong asset;
- Thorough knowledge of modern office procedures, proven ability to work in the Windows environment (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Outlook) and to use the internet;
- Ability to function effectively in a team with initiative, creativity and flexibility;
- Willing to assist colleagues in accordance with work priorities;
- Personal diplomacy and discretion;
- Excellent interpersonal, coordination, organisational, administrative and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work in a proactive and autonomous way while ensuring accuracy;

Responsibilities:
Membership relationship and administration
- Assist the Regional Membership Officer in handling membership inquiries for all organizations in Europe, North and Central Asia and communicate/guide interested organizations on how to apply to become an IUCN Member;
- Proactively assist in recruiting new Members (all Member Categories) with a specific focus as identified by the RD & RMO;
- Provide assistance in the membership applications process: Review and check application files, assist in preparing the various notifications sent to Members at the different stages;
- Support the admission of new Members and ensuring that the Application Form is duly completed, that all supporting documents, including payment, required for the admission/adhesion are provided and that all statutory requirements are met;
- Translate application papers and other documentation from French into English, as necessary;
- Support in keeping CRM up-to-date with new applications, contact details as well other platforms. Provide membership statistics as necessary;
- Liaise with and provide updates and assistance to existing IUCN Members in relation to payment of membership dues, in coordination with relevant units;
- Ensure that the membership dues are cleared by all categories of Members;
- Assist in creating custom directories and datasets, mapping of expertise of Members.
- Assist with the sponsored Delegates Programme before, during and after the Regional Conservation Forum and World Conservation Congress;
- Assist the Regional Membership Officer in providing Members with all the necessary support and information related to Motions, draft Programme and Congress agenda and documents.
Outreach and communications
- Content development for the IUCN website and social media accounts related to IUCN Members and Commissions;
- Coordinate Members’ contribution to IUCN reports, newsletter, website and social media accounts;
- Identify innovative approaches to IUCN outreach and visibility with a particular focus on IUCN Members and Commissions;
- Support regional teams in featuring IUCN Members’ contribution to programme activities;
- Assist in organisation of events and missions related to IUCN Members and partners;
- Preparation of meeting briefs and reports;
- Assist in the development of communications and knowledge products in a range of digital formats.
