Job Title: Membership Manager (MAT Cover until the end of 2025)
Responsible to: Society Secretary
Engages with: Board of Directors, Members, RHASS staff team
Hours per week: 4 days (09.00 – 17.00) inclusive of one hour paid meal break per day
Further hours required in the lead up to, and during, the Royal Highland Show, for which overtime is payable.
Salary FTE £31250 - £33750 K (PTE £25000 - £27000)

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The Membership Team is responsible for servicing and managing the membership of the Society. The Membership Manager will manage the team and provide a route for escalation of queries and complaints, ensuring excellent customer service for the membership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Manage the Membership function within the Secretariat including managing the Membership Team, building the team’s capability and organising team planners;
· Devise and implementing membership communication strategies, liaising with the Society Secretary and Head of Marketing to ensure alignment with the overall brand and comms strategy.
· Day to day reporting of Member trends, payments.
· Oversee the members’ experience at the Royal Highland Show.
· Manage the CiviCRM system, liaising with the developer .
· Manage the administration and support of the Society’s Membership functions including managing new member applications, updating the membership database, processing payments and communicating with members via email and social media channels;
· Assist the Society Secretary [ML1] [EB2] with development and promotion of membership benefits;
· Deal with telephone and email enquiries from Society members, directors, the public and other stakeholders, in a timely and appropriate manner.

OTHER DUTIES:

· Managing the distribution of incoming departmental mail on a daily basis and ensuring it is dealt with in a timely fashion;
· Providing general support to the Society Secretary and assisting the Society Secretary with supporting the Board of Directors as required;
· Developing an understanding of the work of the Society, its Charter and Bye-Laws and making and maintaining relationships with its stakeholders;
· Undertaking other duties as appropriate and required.
