DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Advisor to join our vibrant and supportive team within Student Wellbeing Services, where you will assist with the provision of specialist evidence-based support to students who are experiencing emotional and/or psychological difficulties.
Responsibilities:
As our dedicated Mental Health Advisor, you will provide individual support to students experiencing mental health distress. Your responsibilities will include mental health triage, risk assessment, safety planning, and referrals to internal and external services.
You will deliver follow-up care, manage complex cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including GPs and NHS services. The role involves maintaining confidentiality, accurate record-keeping, and working with students to promote self-help.
You will also contribute to service improvement, provide training to staff, and stay updated on best practices. Regular supervision and collaboration across the university are essential.
