Gallagher Bassett’s service delivery model has been built to support holistic and tailored recovery and return to work (RTW) strategies to deliver superior outcomes. Our model focuses on specialisation and segmentation by injury type and claim duration, enabling alignment of the right skillset to the right role, in addition to support hubs across Mental Health, Return to Work, Injury Management and Technical Support.
We are seeking a dynamic, empathetic and experienced Mental Health Consultant to join our Nominal Insurer function in NSW, which delivers claims management services to injured workers and insured clients.
Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health and Wellbeing, you will provide specialist support and advice for workers with a mental health injury, assisting with recovery and return to work, as well as contributing to the implementation of GB’s mental health and wellbeing strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Collaborate with, and coach, Case Managers and Return to Work Specialists to provide support and education in managing complex psychological claims;
  • Be the key contact for matters that require complex psychological medical intervention;
  • Implement GB’s operational plan in line with the overarching Mental Health and Wellbeing strategy;
  • Identify training opportunities and develop continuous improvement strategies with regards to mental health and psychological claims;
  • Facilitate case conferences with injured workers, employers and treating practitioners to encourage safe, durable and timely return to work;
  • Undertake regular contacts with injured workers to provide support and advice.

About you:

  • Mental health or allied health qualifications are essential, with experience working within a clinical setting;
  • Industry experience in insurance/workers compensation. Exposure to claims management would be highly regarded;
  • Proactive, with exceptional time management and organisational skills;
  • Empathetic with highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage and coach at all levels of organisation;
  • A strategic mindset and approach to work;
  • A strong sense of team and collaboration;
  • A resilient attitude.
