Description:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in one or more of the following psychology, psychiatric nursing or social work from a recognized university
  • Current registration in good standing with the appropriate licensing body required
  • Experience developing and leading students and staff with school wide and in class prevention and intervention

programming

  • Previous experience with individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and professional development training

with staff

  • Knowledge of multicultural perspectives
  • Positive, energetic and self-directed with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, structure and manage workload effectively
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license and ability to travel and work flexible hours as necessary

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a collaborative member of a team including students, families, school teams and community agencies
  • Assist in the development, implementation and facilitation of prevention and intervention programs as identified by

school/divisional teams

  • Provide individual and/or group counseling, crisis intervention and be a member of the divisional crisis response team
  • Work closely and liaison with community partners to provide supports to families
  • Serve in an advocacy role for students and families
  • Other duties as assigned by Student Services Coordinator or Superintendent
