How you make a difference:
The Mental Health Professional is responsible for delivering direct-service care to patients, addressing their mental health needs effectively. Collaborating with the treatment team, they contribute to the planning and execution of competency restoration and mental health services. Additionally, they play an active role in implementing treatment plans, organizing and conducting program activities that encompass both group and individual education and treatment sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the treatment team to plan and deliver competency restoration and mental health services, both in group and individual settings.
  • Ensures thorough and timely completion of documentation related to patient care.
  • Demonstrates expertise in addressing the unique care and treatment needs of patients across different age groups, considering their developmental stages.
  • Maintains knowledge of risk management, infection control, crisis intervention, and environmental safety measures.
  • Actively engages in ongoing professional development to stay updated with relevant knowledge and effectively works with various departments and programs to meet patient needs, while being sensitive to cultural diversity and individual patient characteristics.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a human service-related field, preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience

  • Experience in a residential treatment, psychiatric, or hospital setting preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • License eligible as an Agency Affiliated Counselor or equivalent
