Description:
Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled, team oriented and dynamic individual to join our Addiction and Mental Health Police and Crisis Team (PACT). This position is part of the Addiction and Mental Health Outreach Team and is based out of the Medicine Hat Police Station. As a Mental Health Therapist with PACT you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to persons experiencing addiction and/or mental health issues. This is a front-line position working on an Outreach basis with the Medicine Hat City Police to provide service to individuals struggling with complex addiction and mental health issues. The successful candidate will provide evidence informed and best practice in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment and post crisis follow up. The MH therapist must be an effective communicator with strong organizational skills and have a demonstrated ability to create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with the Medicine Hat City Police and external stakeholders. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
