Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
Our client seeking an experienced and highly skilled MEP Engineer with an emphasis on knowledge of HVAC systems and construction industry experience to join our dynamic team. The MEP Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for various projects. This role requires close collaboration with the in-house design team of architects and structural engineers, as well as with external design consultants to ensure that MEP systems are efficiently integrated into the building design. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and sustainable design and implementation of mechanical systems in a variety of building projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification or eligibility is an advantage.
A minimum of 10+ years of proven experience in the design and coordination of MEP engineering systems preferably in the construction industry
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in MEP design software such as Revit, AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, including sizing, equipment selection, and energy efficiency.
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems integration as part of the MEP framework.
- Familiarity with building codes, ASHRAE standards, and sustainability frameworks such as Net Zero.
- Ability to perform calculations and simulations for heat/cooling load, ventilation, and sizing is an advantage.
- Experience with energy modelling software is an advantage.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical acumen to resolve MEP design challenges.
