SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Desired Qualifications
Certificate III in Retail
Hold (or able to obtain) Working with Childrens Check and National Police Certificate.
Current unrestricted driver’s licence
Expertise
Two years plus administration or retail experience;
Proven experience in retail.
Ability to analyse data;
Intermediate experience in Microsoft suite;
Experience in Grocery Manager POS advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities:

The Merchandise Assistant implements and supports strategies to enable Outback Stores to sell a range of products that delivers on sales and profit targets. The role analyses data for weekly reviews of sales and assists the Merchandise Manager in following the merchandise plans by allocating stock to the stores.
Merchandising
Effectively manages the in-store promotions calendar.
Conducts category reviews and implements agreed changes.
Conducts store audits to ensure Outback Stores core range is available at all stores.
Assists in generating and analysing weekly data scrutinising unsatisfactory sales and profit against product and location.
Ensures category price integrity and validates against competition.
In conjunction with the Assistant merchandise manager, oversees the cost/sell item maintenance within Smart Retail and Group controller/HQ.
Generates and analyses the weekly and monthly sales and profit reports, proactively driving outcomes.
Assist in evaluating market and store information together with historical data and forward trends to develop the department’s plans.
Assist with the development of procedures and reporting to ensure price integrity at Store Level.
Assists in developing and maintaining key supplier accounts.
Maintains healthy communications with stores and internal stakeholders throughout Outback Stores.
