Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Constructs, assembles, and modifies display models. Clears and cleans aisles of empty pallets and debris. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS (COSTCO-SPECIFIC OR INDUSTRY SPECIFIC SKILLS THAT CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS):

  • Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
  • Licenses/Certifications: None
  • Experience/Skills: Customer service, or comparable experience, AS400 and basic maths skills

OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Full COVID-19 vaccination or medical contraindications certificate.

Responsibilities:

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow merchandising standards and practices
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities
  • Write lists of merchandise to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking
  • Align merchandise, and collect and return stray items and stock to maintain high merchandise levels
  • Cut boxes for display/accessibility of merchandise and cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallet
  • Mark merchandise number on unmarked items
  • Stock opened cases onto shelves and move and position pallets of merchandise
  • Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets
  • Wrap/tie and tag pallets to be returned to steel
  • Check for correct merchandise signs
  • Construct and assemble display models
  • Modify displays for safe handling by members (eg. bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges)
  • Pull loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor and clear the sales floor of debris
  • Remove empty pallets from the sales floor and re-wrap loose merchandise
  • Operate cardboard baler and trash compactor
  • Follow all safety and security procedures
  • Spot for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone
  • Follow established inventory prep guidelines prior to physical inventory
  • Follow proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards
  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
  • Help members to load large items into their cart
  • Direct members to merchandise, and relates merchandise status knowledge.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists with front end duties and in other departments of the warehouse, as necessary.
