WHO YOU ARE

Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or preferably master’s degree in business, merchandising, or a related field.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience in merchandise planning, buying, or related roles within retail. You possess hands-on retail experience, as we are looking for candidates with a strong background in retail rather than FMCG or wholesale sectors. Ideally, you have experience with store grading.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), merchandise planning tools, and BI tools such as Tableau; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage overlapping deadlines, multiple tasks, and maintain structured documentation with attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Results-oriented with a proactive approach to taking ownership and ensuring goals are met.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, comfortable influencing and working across functions, countries, and teams in a matrix environment.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English; knowledge of Danish is an advantage.
  • Leadership Characteristics: A candidate who empowers others, has an analytical and problem-solving mindset, and is innovative and solution oriented.
  • Relationship Building: A focus on building relationships and staying updated on the latest DTC trends to enhance merchandising strategies.

Responsibilities:

Fiskars Group is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Merchandising Manager, DTC for Royal Copenhagen, one of the world’s oldest and most iconic porcelain brands. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of this luxury segment brand, renowned for its rich artistic heritage and craftsmanship.
As the Merchandising Manager, DTC, you will oversee both strategic merchandise planning and local execution within our physical retail and eCommerce networks. Your focus will be on developing global guidelines for store grading strategies and DTC planning processes, while also driving their implementation in Denmark. Collaborating closely with the local DTC team, you will optimize performance and contribute to sales and margin growth.
As a subject matter expert in DTC merchandising, you will lead the development of innovative methodologies and tools, fostering knowledge sharing among key stakeholders. This new position is based in Glostrup, Denmark and reports to our Director of Merchandising, Royal Copenhagen. The role is full-time hybrid.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT ROYAL COPENHAGEN, a part of Fiskars Group

Responsibilities:

  • DTC Merchandise Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive merchandise strategy for DTC stores, including Outlet locations, aimed at optimizing sales, inventory turnover, and profitability.
  • Store Grading and Space Planning: Establish store grading and space planning principles tailored to different store formats across Royal Copenhagen’s global retail footprint.
  • Assortment Strategy Development: Define and implement assortment strategies for each store grade, considering market trends, customer insights, and sales data.
  • Pricing Analysis: Analyze pricing trends and the competitive landscape to enhance revenue and margin growth.
  • Inventory and Forecasting Management: Lead DTC product forecasting to optimize inventory levels, including setting replenishment principles and providing initial forecasts for new product launches.
  • Collaboration with Key Teams: Work closely with the Global Merchandising team and local DTC teams to align assortment strategies and execution, ensuring performance optimization in stores.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Supply Chain planning teams on forecasting and replenishment principles, and partner with Marketing to synchronize merchandising strategies with the commercial calendar.
  • Merchandising Tools and Analytics: Lead the development of merchandising tools, methodologies, analytics, and reporting in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to drive performance improvement.
