We’re open to applications from people who may require flexible working arrangements. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss your flexible working requirements during the interview process, and at offer stage.
We’re looking for a Metadata Analyst to join us on a 24-month fixed-term contract in Manchester. In this role you’ll help to create and maintain data artefacts, and gather metadata effectively across Co-op. You’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).
As a Metadata Analyst at Co-op, you’ll be a key part of our Data Design & Architecture team, within our wider Digital Technology & Data team. We’ll look to you to assess the structure and content of our data to support design activities; proactively identifying and resolving potential risks and issues. This is a great opportunity to grow your career, tackling complex data design tasks and delivering data design artefacts for various projects to help improve our Co-op data landscape.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Analyse data to assess its structure and content to support design activities
- Tackle complex data design tasks, resolving issues effectively
- Support the design of data processing for the entire data lifecycle
- Develop and maintain data artefacts (i.e. data models, dataflows, dictionaries, glossaries, standards etc)
- Use your data design expertise to guide colleagues across Co-op; making sure data is used appropriately
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO HAVE
- Experience of data modelling and managing metadata within agile environments
- Knowledge of data modelling techniques (e.g. 3NF and dimensional modelling)
- The ability to maintain metadata artefacts (i.e. data dictionaries, business glossaries, data models, dataflows, and standards)
- Good communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Good relationship-building and collaboration skills
We know that some candidates are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t meet all the criteria in the job description. At Co-op, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive working environment, so if you’d like to apply for this role but your experience doesn’t quite meet every point, we’d still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for the job or other roles we have available.
