Job Description
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently looking for Metal Fitters/Machinists to join the team at our Ashburton plant.
The pay rate ranges from $38.50 to $50.40/hr, based on experience and qualification.
You will be working a shift roster pattern 4 ON 4 OFF, 12-hour shifts and will be either working on Day or Night shift. A night shift allowance of $20 per shift will be paid for any nights worked.
As a Metal Fitter/Machinist, you will be responsible for:
- Reading engineering drawings and specifications to determine requirements.
- Fitting fabricated metal parts as per plant requirements.
- Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance on plant equipment.
- Installation of new equipment
Qualifications
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED:
- Trade certification qualification NZQA level 4 minimum.
- 4 years of experience in the trade preferred (3 years essential).
- Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance practices.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Competent computer literacy skills, with capability in email, MS Office, MS Teams, Deputy etc.
