Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the development, oversight and improvement of all manufacturing processes associated with the tension rolling operations within the Euclid production facility. Ensures that all processes accurately reflect the production practices, costing is adequate, and quality requirements meet or exceed customer specifications.
Tension rolling operations included, but not limited to, rolling mills 3,5 7,10 & Z-mill along with slitting operations..

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, document, and oversee the manufacturing processes for Molybdenum, Tungsten and Toll processing products in cooperation with Operations and Quality Control groups to ensure that all applicable standards are met or exceeded.
  • Develop new processes, manufacturing methods, equipment and tooling as required to improve process capabilities, material yields, and develop new products.
  • Provide technical support to customers to define product/process requirements or troubleshoot existing materials or applications. Provide “Hands-on” support with shop floor employees to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Work in conjunction with quality control and quality assurance to resolve nonconforming material issues, and customer complaints. Complete and implement corrective and preventative action measures, perform FMEA or other analyses to support all quality initiatives.
  • Deal with equipment vendors and travel to vendor sites during equipment evaluation/development.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar or related powder metals manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP planning tools.
  • Proficient in using MS Office software.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language.
  • This position may require the applicant to be licensed under certain United States laws and regulations
  • Competencies: Results orientation, Entrepreneurial orientation, Analytical thinking, Taking initiative, Effective communication, Influencing others, Self-confidence.
  • Experience with SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and SAP is desirable.
  • Relevant work experience in the hot working of metal products is desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works in an office environment.
  • Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor.
  • Work time spent on the manufacturing floor could have temperatures fluctuate up to +100°F.
  • Position requires physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, heavy lifting, balancing and handling material
