Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Roster: 8/6 FIFO Roster
Site: Telfer Operations, Gold and Copper mine located in the Great Sandy Desert in WA.
We are seeking a dynamic Plant Metallurgist to enhance the metallurgical performance of our ore processing plant at our Telfer Mine Site. This role will report into the Senior Plant Metallurgist and will be pivotal in ensuring our plant operates at peak efficiency, delivering improvements that drive cost savings and uphold safety standards.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitor and enhance plant metallurgical performance by providing technical support to maximize recovery, reduce costs, and improve safety.
  • Oversee process control loops and equipment data to initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of plant data collection and reporting in line with Newcrest Metallurgical Standards.
  • Develop and conduct metallurgical test work to diagnose and resolve process issues.
  • Review and report on plant performance, investigating and addressing deviations from production targets.
  • Identify and implement process improvement projects to achieve forecast deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Mining and Geology departments to ensure alignment with production schedules.
  • Prepare and deliver effective handovers, working collaboratively with production and team members.
  • Perform Radiation Safety Officer duties if required.
  • Provide coverage for the Senior Metallurgist during extended absences.
