About the role
The Metallurgist Technician is a key member of the Ore Processing team and reports to the Senior Evaluation Metallurgist. The role is based in the recently upgraded and refurbished laboratory onsite at Northparkes. You will be responsible for the processing, metallurgical analysis and technical reporting functions with the assay, mineralogy and metallurgical laboratory.

Responsibilities:

The timely and accurate test-work analysis, processing, memorandum reporting and interpretation of analytical results to achieve plant performance goals, mining grade control/development, ore evaluation and concentrate shipping activities.
Execution of operational and technical projects while achieving Zero Harm and adhering to NPO values and life preserving rules.
Ensure that all analysis and duties are performed in accordance with established procedures and with an appropriate level of risk assessment
Operation of equipment in accordance with GLP and quality procedures. Ensuring that only calibrated equipment is used, and that instrument maintenance is up to date
About you
Ability to work in a highly autonomous work environment with a strong attention to detail.
General knowledge of the Mining Industry along with experience as a laboratory technician.
Previous experience in ore processing plant, mineralogy and/or chemical assay laboratories would be highly regarded
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Well-developed written and communication skills.
Strong commitment towards safety and quality and flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques would be advantageous
Forklift license desirable
