YOUR SKILLS

  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and improvement plans (development, implementation and follow-up).
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to listen.
  • Proactive and willing to learn and train.
  • Knowledge of Excel or other statistical systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO TS 16949 standards and problem analysis methods (FMEA, etc.) a plus.
  • Good command of French (minimum C1) and technical English (B2).

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Metallurgy Quality Manager, the Metallurgy & Technical Specification Engineer covers the following aspects:

  • MAINTAINING PRODUCT PERFORMANCE FROM A METALLURGICAL POINT OF VIEWThe road engineer’s first mission is to ensure the repeatability and reproducibility of metal characteristics. To this end, he/she is in direct contact with producers and laboratory teams.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTIn addition to day-to-day quality management, the Road Engineer is also involved in the analysis of problems over a longer period of time, and in projects to improve the production line or processes in order to reduce the number of defective products.Optimizes raw material preparation processes in line with production performance improvement.
  • SPECIFICATIONSProvides analysis and technical responses to internal and external customer requests, in collaboration with sales teams.Develops production routes and maintains IT systems (SAP-PSI).
  • NEW PRODUCTS/NEW FORMATSWorking closely with the Industrialization Department, participates in monitoring and coordinating production line trials of new products and formats.
  • CREATION OF A NEW LINEWhen developing a new product or a new line, the quality engineer participates in the design of procedures, identifying potential quality-related risks and planning appropriate solutions from the outset.
  • Supports the responsibilities of the Metallurgy Quality Manager
  • Communicates information to draw up and update the defect repository, and draw up and make available product monitoring plans relating to mechanical properties.
  • Participates in self-control audits.
  • Provides information to define and guarantee metallurgical routes for all products leaving the plant.
  • Handles mechanical property disputes by taking immediate remedial action and steering corrective action.
  • Participate in groups defining and implementing corrective actions relating to the process.
  • Takes part in the management of corrective actions for non-conformity of incoming products.Participate in quality committees.

    • Other responsibilities shared with the Quality Department
  • Organizes, coordinates and monitors assigned projects/tasks in compliance with pre-defined time criteria.
  • Is responsible for the objectives and schedules set, the results and the completion of the projects/tasks entrusted to him/her.
  • Informs his/her line manager in good time of any changes to the schedule and expected results, and proposes corrective action.
  • Also informs of any events or risks that may affect results.
  • Adheres to company Quality and Safety procedures.
