JOB SUMMARY:

A Jesuit institution located in the thriving Denver, Colorado metro area, Regis University invites applicants for MFT Program Director, Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Couple and Family Therapy; this is a full-time, 12-month position. Co-housed with the Department of Counseling within the School of Mental and Behavioral Health and uniquely positioned in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions, the Department of Couple and Family Therapy utilizes a state-of-the-art training clinic, maintains strong community partnerships, and provides opportunities for inter-professional education and the delivery of integrated healthcare. We seek a visionary leader who can expand on the MFT Program’s strengths and who can capitalize on synergies with other programs in the School and College.
Most duties are carried out at the Interprofessional Health Campus in Thornton, CO. Bi-lingual (Spanish-speaking) applicants are encouraged to apply. Faculty presence is required in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 AM to 2 PM, and for evening classes in the master’s program. This role is not suitable for faculty seeking remote-only positions.

  • Must be license-eligible in the state of Colorado; licensure candidacy or full licensure must be secured within two months of the start date.
  • Must be an AAMFT Approved Supervisor or AAMFT Supervisor Candidate (Supervisor Candidate who assumes this role must become an AAMFT Approved Supervisor within three years.

Responsibilities:

The MFT Program Director is responsible for oversight of the outcome-based education framework, assessment activities, curriculum, clinical training program, facilities, services, and the maintenance and enhancement of the program’s quality. The MFT Program Director also serves as the Couple and Family Therapy Department Chair, and has supervisory responsibility for the MFT faculty.
Responsibilities include teaching; curriculum development; student advising and mentoring; service to the department, school, college, university and community; research; and clinical supervision. Faculty practice is encouraged. This role is 60% teaching, 20% scholarship and 20% service. The teaching load is 9 courses (27 credits) per 12-month contract period. Course release is available to allow for Program Director and Chair responsibilities.
