Description:
Alief - International Services YMCA is a unique branch of the YMCA of Greater Houston and seeks to meet the needs of Houston’s significant refugee and immigrant communities. We provide comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. As a Match Grant Program Engagement and Support Specialist on our team, you will play an integral role in helping refugees, asylees, Cuban border crossers, Special Immigrant Visa holders and victims of human trafficking gain access to a wide range of social support services with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written and verbal English communications skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Having a previous experience with logistics and outreach knowledge is preferred
- Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
- College diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Able to regularly lift 75+ pounds required
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, automobile liability insurance, and a vehicle
Responsibilities:
The Match Grant Program Engagement and Support Specialist will primarily be responsible for the following: facilitating donations; reporting and recording match. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to obtain and maintain volunteers for donation pick-up and delivery
- Responsible for reporting volunteer’s hours, orienting volunteers to the program, and fostering designated volunteers
- Collaborate with In-kind/Volunteer Coordinator in hosting an annual volunteer appreciation event
- Help the MG program director in recording donations for match in the MG database and according to the program’s guidelines
- Create and manage monthly donation report per each MG case, share with case managers and program director expeditiously
- Manage In-kind distribution to clients and ensure deliveries are staffed appropriately
- Create a documentation system to organize support documents i.e., thank you letter, donation receipt, valuation, forms signed by client as proof of receipt of In-kind donation
- Document In-kind donations on individual client MG (Matching Grant) Donation Sheet in case file; ensure clients acknowledge receipt of In-kind items before case closure
- Support match programs in creating flyers and outreach efforts for donations, volunteers, etc.
- Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements
- Meets timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Examples include but are not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of timesheets
- Performs other duties as assigned including airport pickups and food pantry distribution
