Job Title: Microbiology Analyst I
Reports To: Microbiology Lab Supervisor
Location: RosMuc, Connemara
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with cGMP guidelines and microbiological testing methods, such as filtration, Colilert, and pour plate techniques.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording results and maintaining documentation.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve out-of-specification results.
Proficiency in using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Good organizational skills, with experience in stock control and laboratory maintenance.
Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and waste management protocols.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to perform repetitive testing tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform microbiological testing, including filtration, Colilert, pour plate, and product testing, while adhering to Company safety policies and cGMP guidelines.
Ensure results are recorded accurately and promptly.
Investigate any out-of-specification results according to site procedures.
Complete testing documentation/LIMS entries to ensure Right First Time KPIs are met.
Manage stock control within the Microbiology Laboratory.
Support validation activities such as Biological Indicators (BIs) and cleaning verification.
Maintain laboratory SOPs and specifications to ensure compliance.
Assist in out-of-specification investigations.
Assist the Quality Manager with equipment verification.
Manage waste control and uphold the laboratory cleaning schedule.
Perform other tasks as directed by the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor.
Support the Lean Laboratory program within the Microbiology Laboratory.
Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive testing tasks.
