Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Microbiology Lab Supervisor to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced laboratory environment based in Limerick. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the microbiology laboratory, ensuring that testing procedures meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will provide leadership and support to a team of microbiologists, ensuring that the lab functions smoothly and delivers on key objectives. Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the microbiology lab, ensuring testing is completed accurately and on time.
Lead, train, and mentor a team of microbiologists, providing guidance and support in their development.
Ensure that all laboratory activities comply with relevant quality standards, including GMP and ISO regulations.
Manage laboratory scheduling, resource allocation, and prioritization of testing to meet project deadlines.
Conduct performance reviews, develop training plans, and foster a positive work environment within the team.
Oversee environmental monitoring programs, sterility testing, and bioburden testing, ensuring all procedures are performed according to SOPs.
Lead investigations into out-of-specification results and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as necessary.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Production, and R&D, to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Ensure that laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated in compliance with regulatory standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the lab.
Who You Are: You are a proactive and detail-oriented microbiology professional with excellent leadership skills. With your expertise in microbiological testing and quality assurance, you have a solid understanding of laboratory operations, compliance standards, and best practices. You are capable of managing a team, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable working cross-functionally with other departments.
