YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Experience and knowledge in designing and operating server Operating Systems in an enterprise environment
- Experience in managing OS/patch lifecycles with Red Hat satellites and WSUS
- Deep skills in OS security and hardening procedures (e.g. implementation of CIS benchmarks)
- Familiar with Python and Powershell scripting, system configuration with Ansible, packaging of applications and OS image creation with Hashicorp Packer
- Knowledge about integration of operational procedures into Gitlab, JIRA, etc.
- ITIL knowledge
- Enthusiasm for collaborative work in international teams.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral
- Previous responsibilities in support organizations are highly valued
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
You will collaborate with experts to develop innovative solutions for the logistics industry, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency. You will drive continuous improvement processes that enhance service quality and security, including designing, maintaining, and supporting our global infrastructure operating systems.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Central responsibility for Server Operating Systems in KN’s Multi-cloud environment (currently Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Amazon Linux and Microsoft Windows Server)
- Design, architecture and operations of the global infrastructure for operating systems, including: Red Hat Satellites , Red Hat Identity Manager (aka. Red Hat IPA), Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
- Design, maintain and provision Golden Images for Operating Systems using automatic build pipelines on a monthly base
- Support/create custom images for other KN infrastructure and application teams
- Provide consulting services for other KN IT teams
- Provide 24x7 on-call support for all Operating Systems (major incidents)
- Perform root cause analysis of OS related incidents
- Collaborate with other teams of the Infrastructure department, the new Cloud Service Hub and the Global Service Desk
- Get in touch with vendors and incorporate ideas into the product lifecycle
- Support KN’s ISO/KRITIS certifications by documenting and presenting operational procedures
