The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-Level KC-46 Maintenance Training System Mechanical & Structural Engineer to support Boeing Global Services and the KC-46 Maintenance Training System Support Center at McConnell AFB, KS.
This role supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components’ designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience with CAD/CAM
  • Familiar with CMPro

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities will be reviewing, forecasting and researching obsolescence to support the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages program
  • Assist and support impact assessments for aircraft concurrency in relation to Augmented Hardware Training Devices
  • Reviewing and assess change requests that flow throw the Training System Configuration Working Group
  • Edit existing drawings as impacted by hardware changes and obsolescence
  • Works under general direction
