The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Security Operations Specialist to join the team in New Orleans, LA.
This position will support Security and Fire Protection Operations at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 5+ years of experience with working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
- 5+ years of experience working in the private and/or government sector in security, fire protection, law enforcement, medical response, or emergency preparedness
- 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining facility access badges
- 3+ years of experience with Threat Management and/or Threat Assessment
- 3+ years of experience working in emergency preparedness discipline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience
- Experience working in a badging office in the creation of badges
- Experience working at a NASA facility and/or military base
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically, 6 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Performs assignments in accordance with to established company, government and customer guidelines and procedures
- Functions as a liaison between customers, company and external organizations
- Performs badging responsibilities in accordance with Boeing policies and procedures for Direct, Contract Labor, and Purchased Service employees at NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, Naval Air Station & Joint Reserve Base Belle Chasse, and John C. Stennis Space Center
- Attends regularly scheduled badging meetings and completes actions as necessary
- Performs NASA badging responsibilities for all Boeing personnel supporting Space Launch System functions at Michoud Assembly Facility, to include United States (U.S.) visitor badges and Guest Wi-Fi service requests, Foreign National Visit requests, Local, Agency Secure Badge (ASB), and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge requests, in accordance with NASA policies and procedures
- Assists in the development of training materials within industry guidelines using common office applications and delivers training from provided materials to new hire employees during orientation, and other opportunities
- Maintains and provides new hire employee and visitor metrics to MAF Site Leadership for visibility and awareness
- Responds to emergencies to ensure the protection of people, property, information and interests
- Completes appropriate notifications and documentation
- Performs administrative duties and responsibilities for threat management caseload, lost and found items, information protection compliance violations, major event support, and emergency management, as applicable
- Acts as a backup to the Lead Security Focal as needed
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
