The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Mid-Level Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support F-15 Advanced Programs in St. Louis, Missouri one of our largest, most dynamic sites with a broad business portfolio.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience using DOORS for requirements management
  • Experience with Systems Engineering principles
  • Collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in leading and/or managing a team.
    Typical Education/Experience:
    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master + 3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture
  • Assists with the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Assists with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
  • Uses understanding of engineering processes to collaborate with Program Management and Engineering functions to support the Customer needs
  • Uses an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to work
  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, functional requirements and regulatory requirements
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Coordinates with engineering functions to define requirements related to safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialty engineering groups.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
