Mid-Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer (Argentina)
Remote - Canada | Permanent / Full Time
Our client, a leading force in the scheduling application industry, provides advanced HR and scheduling software solutions to prestigious clients including Starbucks, AirFrance, and various governmental and health organizations. Specializing in the integration of complex ERP systems like ADP and SAP, they cater to the broad requirements of shift-based businesses. With a global presence, including a dedicated team in Canada, the US, Croatia, and more, they are now looking to expand their team in Buenos Aires.
The client is looking to add 3 mid-senior engineers to their team in Argentina. It’s a full-time permanent position with the record of employment and full benefits package provided through Remote.com Note that it’s a remote work arrangement with very occasional travel to Buenos Aires (1-2 times a years, all expenses paid) to foster team collaboration and learning/training opportunities. Only candidates based in Argentina are encouraged to apply.
B2+ level of English communication skills is required for efficient collaboration with the client’ existing international team (US, Canada, Croatia).

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in software development (full-stack or back end), with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
Proven experience building performant, scalable web apps using Ruby on Rails.
Experience with Vue.js, React, or other modern JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
Experience with PostgreSQL or other database technologies.
Strong expertise in software design patterns and understanding their impact on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Ability/desire to write own unit tests.
TDD knowledge.
Experience in developing RESTful web services.
Exposure to Heroku, AWS, Google Cloud or other similar cloud application hyperscaler infrastructure platforms.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.

NICE-TO-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with HRIS, scheduling software, and/or ERP system integrations (e.g., ADP payroll, SAP).
A well-maintained GIT portfolio showing past work is hugely beneficial.
High level of curiosity, desire to learn new tech and stay current in the fast changing industry.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain web and mobile-based scheduling applications.
Lead integration projects for ERP systems, enhancing HR and scheduling functionalities.
Develop features for client’s web apps using Ruby on Rails, Django, Spring Boot with Kotlin, and VueJS with TypeScript, including maintenance through upgrades and bug fixes.
Engage in software development lifecycle phases, participating in bi-weekly sprints, retrospectives, demos, and planning.
Collaborate with a global team to deploy innovative solutions, incorporating AWS AI and ML services and LLMs based on ChatGPT.
Guide feature development, defect management, and coordinate deploys to web applications and API endpoints.
Provide mentorship, document code, and work closely with Quality Assurance for feature development verification.
