MID-WEEK CHILDREN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR
Unit of Synod/Presbytery/Congregation: Rosefield Uniting Church
Classification: Part Time Permanent

- Based in Rosefield Uniting Church, 2 Carlton Street, Highgate. SA
DESCRIPTION:
The ‘Mid-week Children’s Ministry Coordinator’ will co-ordinate the Rosefield Uniting Church Tuesday Playgroup and Thursday mainly music. Both groups operate in the morning. The Coordinator will encourage and support the Rosefield Community’s connection with families, including those of the wider community through its Mid-Week Children’s Ministry.
In the role particular emphasis will be given to:
- Ensuring children and families receive pastoral care
- Building links and relationships with children and families in the wider community
- Being an advocate for children and families in all aspects of the life of the church.
Specific Duties:
- To co-ordinate the existing Tuesday Playgroup and Thursday mainly musicmorning sessions
- To ensure pastoral care is provided to families, as is appropriate
- To consider, with the volunteers, measures for fostering other links betweenmid-week families and the church community
- To ensure a safe environment for children is maintained in respect to UnitingChurch Safe Church Policy.
Essential
- Actively involved in a Christian church, demonstrating a commitment to follow Christ
- Willing to work within the ethos and polity of the Uniting Church and the Basis of Unionfor the Uniting Church
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- An energetic self-starter, able to delegate work and able and prepared to ask for helpwhen it is required
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to children from 0 to 5 years of age
- Proven abilities to relate to parents and carers with love and understanding
- Willingness to undergo any training required to meet the inherent requirements of theposition.
Desirable
- Experience with either Playgroup or mainly music.
