Description:

UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH PHYSICIANS ARE HIRING A FULL-TIME CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE TO HELP SUPPORT THEIR MAGEE WOMEN’S OB/GYN TEAM IN ALTOONA, PA.

Hours: Variable shifts and days. Includes rotating on-call and occasional weekends. Estimated 48 hours per week.
Location: 2918 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 and 1701 12th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601. Travel to other offices based on preference and staff needs.
Position Specifics: Obstetrics and Gynecology. Will primarily work outpatient setting, and support labor and delivery setting.
Department Details: UPMC Magee Women’s OB/GYN in Altoona is a large growing practice servicing Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, and Cambria Counties. Our providers include Laborist, Generalists, Midwives, PA’s, CRNP’s the perform 100-125 deliveries monthly. Our midwives also are career ladder eligible!

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

The Staff CNM is a Certified Registered Nurse Midwife and a member of the care delivery team. The CNM, Staff is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The CNM, Staff has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The CNM, Staff manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the CNM, Staff encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision. The CNM, Staff establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Staff APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.
