Location: Northern Region, Southeast Queensland
Our Milk Supply team is seeking a qualified and passionate Milk Supply Officer for our Northern Region. This role is a critical resource for our business and our dairy farmers in Southeast Queensland and therefore we are flexible around where the successful candidate may wish to locate themselves.

In doing so, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining constructive relationships with all key stakeholders across Norco’s raw milk supply chain.
  • Providing high-quality and accurate technical referral support to Norco’s milk suppliers.
  • Supporting our suppliers in all facets of a dairy business, including budgeting, agronomy, nutrition, herd management, sustainability, and biosecurity, as appropriate for each supplier.
  • Guiding and assisting the implementation of projects to address specific milk quality, sustainability, or productivity issues among suppliers.
  • Guiding and assisting the implementation of projects and programs to increase the long-term sustainability and profitability of our business’s suppliers.
  • Acting as the conduit between our business and suppliers to drive engagement and ensure effective communication of initiatives and changes that impact suppliers

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Milk Supply, your key focus will be to proactively manage the relationship between our business and our dairy farmer members to ensure the supply of premium quality milk to our factories.

In doing so, your key accountabilities will include:

What You Will Bring to the Role:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Experience in animal nutrition will be viewed favourably.
  • Proven experience working as a trusted Milk Supply Officer in the dairy industry.
  • The ability to relate and build genuine rapport with farmers.
  • A solid understanding of the issues related to on-farm milk quality.
  • Experience in farm QA programs with an understanding of quality control and audit systems.
  • An understanding of technical issues relevant to dairy farm management.
  • Knowledge of on-farm sustainability improvement programs.
  • The ability to work independently with a collaborative and strong team ethos.
  • A genuine desire to leverage your skills and experiences to support the improvement of farmers and their business.
  • Comfort with flexible work hours and the ability to travel to conduct farm visits is essential.
