Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for the position of Mill Operations Superintendent with a competitive base salary between $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications with an additional short term incentive of 20%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity.

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of the position is to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of all Mill Operations and Metallurgical Dept. functions. This is position is intended to be directly accountable for the technical and operation functions within the Mill and will serve as the Mill
Manager designate when required.
The position also ensures compliance with all Newcrest Mining’s Health & Safety and other relevant policies and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate safety leadership within a team environment and promote environmental awareness in all work or task related duties.
- Supervision and support for your direct reports including the Operations Supervisors abd Senior Metallurgists.
- Primary engagement in all employee issues in the mill operations/metallurgical department at the supervisor level and below. This includes hiring, disciplinary actions and the promotion of workplace diversity and job progression.
- Supporting the Mill Supervisors with employee issues within their respective functional groups
- Administer and enforce compliance to company policy and all provincial and mining regulations
- Continually coordinate work with mill maintenance to ensure optimal operations and minimal down-time
- Demonstrate initiative in maintaining a high standard of work in their daily duties.
- Demonstrate a commitment to attendance accountability and punctuality in accordance with Newcrest’s policies and expectations.
- Be able to provide training and mentorship to trainees.
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Accountable for monthly financial reporting within the Mill operations group.
- Leading and supporting all Mill functional groups with project-based work with a focus on budgetary and time compliance.
- Assisting the trainers with SOP development and updates as well as provide formal training where qualified to do so.
