Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Process Plant, processes and personnel to ensure that production targets are met in the most cost efficient way, whilst maintaining safety and security at all times;
  • Champion risk management of the Process Plant;
  • Prepare/co-ordinate accurate expenditure budgets and forecast as required and demonstrates sound business acumen through the management of mill processing and maintenance costs;
  • Develop a level of familiarisation with all areas of the Process Plant and its infrastructure in order to ensure proper operation & maintenance of the assets through the companies CMMS;
  • Ensure operations/maintenance are sufficient and appropriately resourced to meet the operations needs in line with schedules and approved budgets;
  • Manage mill project work as required to optimize the processes performance;
  • Oversee metallurgical process, practices and operational control parameters required to attain optimum gold recoveries, throughput and costs;
  • Evaluates and reviews plant, test and historical performance – complete reports and offer recommendations;
  • Manage and optimize purchase and change management requests;
  • Focus on developing a skilled and motivated operations workforce through support of appropriate training, open communication, involvement and performance feedback;
  • With General Supervisor and Supervisors, oversee the effective management of rosters, leave, operational coverage, interactions and professional development within your department;
  • Contribution to all relevant reporting and statistics;
  • Work with the safety department to ensure policies are implemented and adopted by staff under your supervision
