Our Fort Hills Mine Equipment Maintenance Team are looking for experienced Millwrights to join their team!

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, repairs, equipment overhauls, installations and preventative maintenance for all industrial machinery, mechanical equipment in a workshop and field environment
  • Perform tasks including rotating equipment alignment, troubleshooting (turbines, fans, blowers, bearings, seals, hydraulics, etc.), removing and replacing components on conveyors, rotary wet screens, pumps, gearboxes and sizers
  • Support Mine Equipment Maintenance including Shovels and other Mine related equipment
  • Operate rigging and lifting equipment
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, maintenance manuals and schematic drawings to determine our work procedures
  • Plan and estimate safe, efficient and cost-effective execution of jobs while minimizing the impact on operations and costs
  • Actively participate in post-failure analysis and root cause discussions and help to develop creative solutions
  • Ensure that our preventative maintenance guidelines are adhered to and maintain complete and accurate records

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three or more years as a Journeyperson, working in a heavy industrial environment (e.g. mining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, petrochemical, etc.)
  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson Certificate Millwright or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate Millwright; attach your journeyman / red seal ticket with your application
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • This is a camp-based position at the Fort Hills site
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 12-hour shifts) You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
