Procor Limited manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. Our fleet has grown to include more than 30,5000 special purpose tank and freight cars. Procor also operates 28 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers and food markets.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor the Millwright will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance. This includes troubleshooting machinery, determining necessary parts for repairs, and working with Railcar Technicians, Welders, and other trades to complete tasks. The role requires conducting inspections to ensure safety devices are functional, adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies, and performing welding repairs and preventative maintenance. Millwright will maintain detailed records of repairs and follow lockout and hot work protocols. Training will be provided to ensure competency in all required tasks. This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, in compliance with Procor’s Responsible Care policy.

SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting mechanical machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to operate and repair a wide range of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
  • Experience with welding techniques, including stick, MIG, and TIG welding.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Ability to determine the correct parts and methods for repairs.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and hot work procedures.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., Procor’s Responsible Care policy).
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to repair, replace, or install mechanical components, including bearings, shafts, belts, and gears.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance practices to ensure equipment longevity and performance.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and components as needed.
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
  • Comfort working in various environments, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to identify potential problems before they occur and take proactive measures.
  • Careful inspection of machinery and equipment to ensure everything is functioning properly.
  • Effective communication with team members and Leadership
  • Ability to document repair work and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Proven experience in a millwright or related mechanical trade, with Valid Red Seal Certification or equivalent
    The regular working hours of this position are as follows: Monday to Thursday from 6:30am to 4:00pm., One week 36- work week. Second week Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a 44-hour work week. These hours may change depending on business requirements.
    Pay: $28.85-$41.39 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company policies and regulations related to health, safety, and the environment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine required materials, parts, and repair methods per company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Railcar Technicians, Welders, and other trades to complete repairs.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities to ensure all safety guards and protective devices are functional, reporting any deficiencies.
  • Monitor and inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and minimize production loss.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs and work orders.
  • Repair or replace mechanical components as needed.
  • Perform welding repairs as required.
  • Follow hot work and lockout protocols.
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulic systems in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal mechanical performance.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, including Procor’s Responsible Care policy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
