JOB SUMMARY:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Millwright and general assembly work or specialized training
  • Experienced with a variety hand tool and power tools
  • Manufacturing experience in an agricultural or aggregate + mining environment an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other drawings
  • Must have outstanding punctuality and attendance
  • Ability to work according to production schedules and deadlines; willing to work shifts when required
  • Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills as well as the flexibility to handle changing

demands and work effectively in a diverse environment

  • Basic math and communication skills required
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment/able to work under pressure

KNOWLEDGE AREAS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to accurately fit parts
  • Overhead crane and forklift training an asset (but not required)
  • Experience rigging and safe handling of components
  • WHMIS training an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Read documents, computer screens, blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout

and procedures

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain

  • Perform final inspection of assembled product
  • Assist with internal maintenance and preventative maintenance program; provide lists of parts/services

required for maintenance

  • Learn all aspects of all production machinery
  • Repair equipment as required
  • Gain and maintain efficiencies by following lean principles
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Report out results and ensure NCR’s are followed up on and closed
  • Assist yard forklift operator loading of large units
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
