We are currently seeking an experienced Mine Technician to join our site Mine Technical Services (MTS) team, supporting the Geotechnical Engineering and Geology functions. Reporting to an experienced Senior Mine Technician, it is a wonderful opportunity to upskill, in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
The role is FIFO from Darwin, with the option for salary sacrificed flights for those keen to from interstate. Responsibilities:

  • Visible Frontline Leadership with respect safety (meet KPI’s set by the Senior Mine Technician).
  • Managing the personal performance to ensure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Safely and efficiently install, and operate, Geotechnical Instrumentation as required, for example:
  • Assist Geotechnical Engineers with slope monitoring requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain Prism Monitoring system.
  • Installation of monitoring prisms in-pit.
  • Management of servicing of total station instruments.
  • Monitor and maintain IBIS slope monitoring radar system.
  • Monitor and maintain installed downhole instrumentation (VWPs, RWEs, etc.).
  • Plan and coordinate relevant projects including installation programs for downhole instrumentation.
  • Complete CAL’s scans where necessary and as requested by Geotechnical Engineers.
  • Field and logistical assistance to all MTS drilling projects.
  • Support management of the core yard.
  • Diamond core processing (photography, orientation, cutting, sampling & dispatch)
  • Area inspections, stocktaking & ordering and asset management (ensure safe and well-maintained).
  • Effective stakeholder engagement – particularly with the Geotechnical Engineers and Geologists.
