Description:
Blue Sky Resources is private Oil and Gas company with operations in Alberta and British Columbia. We are growing and are currently recruiting for a Mineral Land Analyst to work out of our Calgary corporate office. This position will report to our Land Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Crown and Freehold leases/licenses as well as issued fee leases to ensure that ongoing obligations are met, including, but not limited to, rental payments, expiries, continuations, offsets and obligation/default notices. A requirement for this role is a strong and extensive knowledge of Alberta and BC Regulations as well as Freehold leases, specifically their language, in order to ensure compliance of terms is required for this position.
We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic, who is a self-starter and highly motivated and possesses:
- Petroleum Land Administration certification from an accredited program.
- 10+ years of related work experience in oil and gas mineral land.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and take on new tasks where needed.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail.
- Good team player, ability to work with people of diverse disciplines, backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficient working knowledge of MS office.
- Superior working knowledge of CS Land and geoSCOUT.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Timely input and verification of mineral data to the land system for acquisition and disposition of Crown and Freehold leases as well as issuance of leases from other owned titles
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders (Exploration/Operations teams, Accounting, Partners and applicable Provincial regulatory departments)
- Promptly responding to internal and external accounting and audit queries
- Review and coding of rental invoices
- BA updates including system amendments and internal stakeholder notices
- Entering and following up on obligations related to day-to-day area administration within the Land system
- CS data cleanup, including process and procedure development and data integration
- Support A&D conveyance document prep based on other pending deals
- Rentals – process and administer monthly mineral lease rental payments
- Ensure land system data integrity and linking is maintained to accurately reflect the companies’ interest in Land, including contractual agreements, leases and well records
- Administration and maintenance of Freehold and Crown Mineral Leases; work closely with teams and partners on recommendations for continuations, expiries, compensatory royalties, offset notices, default notices, submissions and terminations of mineral rights
- Assisting with special projects as required
