The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide mining engineering support and leadership to the operation in line with legislative requirements and site policies and procedures. Critical to the success of this role, is your ability to provide guidance and leadership to Production Engineers and operational personnel with information, assistance and support so as to assist in the safe and efficient delivery of development and ore.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and manage mine ventilation systems
  • Oversee the preparation of short, medium and long term production plans for Cracow.
  • Ensure short term production plans and schedules are integrated with medium and long term mine plans.
  • Develop proposals for the most suitable mining method, taking into account the depth and characteristics of deposits and their surroundings.
  • Liaise with the Mine Superintendent and Technical Services personnel on the implementation of plans and the achievement of targeted production.
  • Prepare plans for the mine, including declines, drives and shafts using computer aided design software packages.
  • Support the maintenance of ventilation standards for the removal of dusts and gases and assist in the update of the Ventsim model after each quarterly ventilation survey.
  • Coordinate the relationship between Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance to provide an ongoing understanding on constraints, priorities and plans.

About You
You are a seasoned Mining Engineer, who’s gained experience across multiple underground, mining sites.
You’re team focused, collaborative and always prepared to do whatever is necessary to deliver great outcomes for your team.

Additionally, you will possess the following –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • 4 plus years in underground mining, with demonstrable experience
  • Strong planning and drill and blast experience in an underground hard rock metalliferous environment
  • Advanced experience using Deswik software
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • The ability to working autonomously, whilst being a strong team player within the Technical Services department

The Operation
Cracow Gold Operations is an established high-grade, low-cost gold operation located near the towns of Cracow and Theodore in central Queensland, on the traditional lands of the Wulli Wulli people. Aeris acquired Cracow Gold Operations on 1 July 2020 and holds a significant tenement package over the Cracow goldfields covering 935km2.
Cracow has multiple ore bodies accessed by a single decline to the surface and mined via open stoping through a modified Avoca mining sequence. Processing is via a 600,000tpa capacity facility involving conventional crushing and grinding, followed by a leaching / CIP circuit to recover gold and silver doré
