ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a keen and passionate engineer to join our high-performing team at our QCoal Northern Hub (QCNH); situated a mere 1 hour drive from Bowen and the beautiful Whitsundays. The location provides a unique opportunity for those looking to live by the beach and be home every night, whilst working in a positive environment and getting the opportunity to develop themselves in the mining engineering space.
This role is open to both experienced mining engineers, and those currently holding an engineering degree and looking to gain experience in the mining world. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be required to work collaboratively in the delivery of high-quality solutions and results for our open-cut coal mine site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

• Daily data validation and reporting
• Assisting the short-term planning team in:
• Dig and dump designs
• Data analysis
• Dozer push designs
• Rehab designs
• Operational plans
• Communicating designs/plans effectively with the production team
• Assist the team with the weekly planning pack
• Compliance to site Safety Health and Environmental standards
• Provide information to relevant staff to assist in the End of Month reporting requirements
• Assisting the drill and blast engineer where required
• Assessing opportunities for improvements in operational efficiency
• Utilise your skills to continually aim for innovative solutions
