Why This Role Matters
This position will be responsible for supporting the Corps Officer Leadership Team in the delivery of the mission of The Salvation Army and the Caloundra Corps through development and facilitation of ministry and community programs, in an integrated setting. The role is a member of/part of the Corps Leadership Structure/Team.
About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Ministry Assistant for our Caloundra Corps in a fixed-term (6 months contract) part-time (12 hours per week) capacity. This position is based out of Little Mountain.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Hay Level 10 award.
Key Responsibilities:
- General administration tasks including assisting with rostering in accordance with TSA procedures, accurately and within agreed time frames.
- Provide customer service and assistance to community members, including providing approved welfare support and referring to relevant internal services, or external partners as required.
- Work with the Corps officers to develop, implement and oversee existing and new community and church-based ministry activities for children, youth and families.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with existing ministry teams (e.g., SAL Connect, Community Dinner, Pastoral Care, Community Engagement Team) and programs (such as Family Pathways) to ensure this role complements others effectively, fostering a cohesive and harmonious workplace.
- Support the supervision, engagement and record input of Mission Volunteers as required
- All ministry activities are carried out in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
About You:
- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army.
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
- Experience in a Ministry position (desirable)
- Completion of studies (or willingness to complete studies) in community services and/or, ministry related study and/or, youth or children’s work and/or related fields, is desirable
- Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based group.
- A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
- A current and valid Working with Children’s Check
