Corps is a community-focused church, partnering with the wider community to help transform one life at a time with the love of Jesus. This is achieved through Sunday Worship Services, Youth and Children’s program, Community Support and Emergency Relief, Case Management and Financial Counselling, Pastoral Care, small groups, community-focussed activities, and engagement with on-site Salvos Store.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Leader - Community Outreach, at our Mandurah location. Reporting to the Corps Officers, this is a permanent, part-time position offering 22.8 hours per week.
This is an Award Free position with salary and conditions constructed around the HAY level 12.

You will successfully

  • Manage and build collaborative relationships with Corps, community members, DHQ staff, other community support services and partnerships that align with TSA mission
  • Develop partnerships with other support agencies, e.g. Orange Sky, Street Doctor, Centrelink, Homeless Services etc. to provide a “one-stop shop” in alignment with Doorways philosophy
  • Implement and facilitate Community Connect programs and activities to meet mission intentions, Corps goals and participant needs.
  • Manage, organise and oversee activities related to packing of food and materials in readiness for community members.
  • Systems implemented and managed for effective daily operations within community centre including Drop-In centre.

You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)

  • Possess a sound, mature Christian experience.
  • Qualification in community services, or relevant ministry field (highly regarded) or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills.
  • Generalist administration experience with intermediate computer skills across a range of software
  • Relevant experience in leading and developing volunteers and community service
  • A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is required
  • Working With Children Check
  • WA Drivers Licence – C class manual or automatic (preferred manual)
  • Actively involved in a Christian faith community
  • Willingness to attend The Salvation Army Mandurah periodically to connect with congregation and share outcomes or needs
