Description:
ABOUT THIS JOB
Are you a dedicated, reliable and hardworking individual who is committed to supporting vulnerable children and young people? This is an exciting post within the Council that will see you working across a range of agencies to coordinate information and support around missing children.
Assisting with ensuring that key tasks related to missing children are carried out, the successful candidate will need good ICT skills to maintain the borough’s central missing children database and be able to interrogate other systems for information on missing children.
Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary as the post holder will need to liaise daily with professionals in other agencies, especially Social Workers and the Police, and attend various meetings. You will be expected to handle sensitive data appropriately and will need to work efficiently to ensure that a report is issued each day of missing children that the local authority has a responsibility towards.
Return interviews are a key tool in understanding why children go missing and what can be done to prevent them going missing again. You will be responsible for ensuring these interviews are carried out within a strict timeframe. There will also be a requirement to undertake some return interviews, which will include meeting with a child who has returned from being missing to ascertain why they went missing, what happened to them and what can be done to stop them going missing again.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POST
This vacancy is a safer services role, therefore you will be required to carry out a DBS Check.
